St Mary’s, Washford

Washford is part of Old cleeve parish, and St Mary’s church is located in Washford, opposite Gingerman hairdressers. We often worship together with our Methodist friends who share our building with us.

Washford has a mixed community of retired people (including sheltered housing in Willow Grove), families and children. Old Cleeve Church of England First School is in the village and the children often visit the church (and St Andrew’s in Old Cleeve), and we have a great partnership between school and church. Other activities in the village take place in the Memorial Hall. The village has a shop (next to the church) and the Washford Inn and White Horse Inn are both nearby.

The church can be accessed on one level. Gluten free wafers are available in services (please let somebody know beforehand if possible). The tradition is broad at St Mary’s with room for a variety of Christian traditions, which we try to reflect in our worship.
